While the event always features notable performers, this year's show is highly anticipated, as Mariah Carey will be returning to headline after her disastrous set from the 2017 show.

As the holiday season winds down, there is nothing more memorable and traditional than Dick Clark's classic New Years Rockin' Eve!

For the NY portion of the show you've likely already heard that Mariah Carey is going to return, hopefully to redeem herself following a rather chaotic performance on the show past year. From watching the iconic ball drop in New York's Times Square to the traditional Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, here is a guide on what to watch to welcome 2018.

Well it turns out that the Queen of Sass will be returning for another New Year's Eve performance, which has lead hosts Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy to admit they've "anxious" about her return.

Additional headliners in Times Square include Nick Jonas, Sugarland and Camila Cabello.

We do wonder if things are reasonably subject to change at the moment, given that this is now slated to be one of the coldest New Year's Eves in recent memory. McCarthy added that the hopeful theme of Unity is the exact thing needed after a tumultuous 2017 of negativity, and a chance to maybe see some good from the year highlighted as the live telecast ushers in a fresh start.

Britney Spears will perform this year from the Axis at Planet Hollywood Resort, while Mariah Carey is set to return to the Times Square stage after last year's mishap with audio issues and lip-synching.
