Over the last three, they are surrendering a league-high 117.0 points per game. Despite that news, Ball - who has missed the last three games - will not play Sunday against the Rockets or Monday versus the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to Tania Ganguli. The loss extended the Lakers' losing streak to six.

After a terrible first half defensively ended with the Rockets misfiring offensively, the Rockets missed their first six shots of the second half, fell behind by as much as 17 and searched desperately for any kind of spark.

An uncomfortable pattern has emerged the first half of the season for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Randle only played eight minutes during the Lakers' first trip to Houston on December 20, finishing the game with four points, a rebound and an assist. Clarkson, who had started for Ball in the Lakers last game, came off the bench Josh Hart started. The Rockets quickly roared back, but the Lakers led for most of the second half, until a frenzied final couple minutes gave the Rockets a chance to steal the win. The Rockets MVP candidate exited the game with 44 seconds left and was ruled out by the team in the second overtime.

Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni changed up his rotation, bringing in Green for Ryan Anderson when Tucker usually checks in. As it fell, he bounced up and down, turning toward the cluster of Rockets players standing near him.

Raiders fire Jack Del Rio after loss to Chargers
After going 7-9 in his first year, the team jumped to 12-4 last season and reached the playoffs. The Raiders followed that up by becoming one of the league's disappointing teams.

Houston fouled to get him out of the game, and he did not return. The meeting had no apparent immediate effect, as the Lakers lost for the 21st time in their past 23 games against the Clippers.

Kuzma is great working off the ball, so it is key that the Lakers - without Lonzo Ball - find some playmaking, specifically with one of Brandon Ingram, Tyler Ennis or Alex Caruso running the most point.

Brook Lopez is not exactly known for his defense, but his absence over the Lakers past six games has had a direct impact on the Lakers performance on that end of the court.

The Lakers reclaimed the lead before Paul went to work in the final minute.
