Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer retires

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer announced his retirement on Tuesday via an open letter released by the team via social media.

Arizona's season arguably ended in Week 1 when David Johnson, left the game with a dislocated wrist.

Arians has had health issues in recent years, including treatment for diverticulitis and a successful fight against kidney cancer last off-season.

"It's been an unbelievable journey", he said.

Fitz has previously said that his retirement decision was not tied into the decision of Arians or quarterback Carson Palmer.

"Awesome guy, I'm sure gonna miss him", said Art Chacon, who is also a big fan. "I'll miss coming out of the locker room hearing the national anthem because it still gets to me".
