There had to be at least a few whoops of delight emanating from Palo Alto on Sunday night as hometown hero James Franco captured a Golden Globe for best performance by an actor in a motion picture, comedy or musical. In fact, he went a step ahead and got Wiseau on the stage during his acceptance speech. Watch the wild moment, below! Strangely, though, Franco didn't let the man who was the entire reason for the movie do any of the talking. Franco even brought his brother up on stage, Dave Franco, who stars alongside him in the film; The brothers' first collaboration on screen.

"The Disaster Artist" is based on a memoir Sestero wrote that recounted his time making "The Room". Wiseau gained infamy for creating 2003's "The Room", a cult classic that came to be known as "the Citizen Kane of bad movies". The film stars brothers James and Dave Franco as Wiseau and Greg Sestero, alongside a star-studded cast, which includes James' good friend Seth Rogen [who also produced], his sister-in-law Alison Brie [Dave Franco's wife], Ari Graynor, Josh Hutcherson, and Jacki Weaver.

"Nineteen years ago he was stuck in traffic and saw a sign for the Golden Globes", said Franco, who then broke into Wiseau's mystery accent as he did in the film. The Disaster Artist is also nominated for Best Picture, Musical or Comedy.
