Acer has debuted three new laptops just before the official commencement of CES 2018 conference at Las Vegas, US.

According to reports, though the expected laptop reveals at the events generally tended to be more for mid-tier market, the Acer Swift 7 Ultrabook has managed to grab the attention of the consumers as it features a ridiculously thin design, while retaining the functionality expected of the device. The laptops are an upgrade to Acer's Windows 10 lineups - Swift 7, Nitro 5, and Spin 3, and Chromebook 11.

Acer's laptop felt very light in our hands, but at 2.5 pounds, it's not the lightest 14-inch laptop on the market.

As a notable addition, the new Swift 7 boasts integrated 4G LTE connectivity. There's also a fingerprint reader, a backlit keyboard, and an eSIM card for 4G LTE connectivity. 256 GB of PCIe SSD storage offers plenty of room to keep important files at the user's fingertips, while 8 GB of LPDDR3 memory keeps multitasking smooth and responsive. In terms of design, the new Swift 7 sports an aluminum unibody design, which makes it a premium look. The current generation Swift 7 measures at 13.3mm, which is already incredibly thin for a 13.3-inch device, so that further reduction in thickness sure is impressive.

At a mere 8.98mm thick, Acer's brand new Swift 7 shaves off another milimetre off it's predecessor's record, giving Acer pole position and second place in the race of disappearing girth.

Hardware includes an Intel Celeron CPU, 2GB or 4GB of RAM, a HDR webcam, microphone, dual stereo speakers, and 16GB or 32GB of storage. The Nitro 5 is for the casual gamers, and comes upgraded with AMD Radeon RX560 GPU and AMD's Ryzen processor.

The Acer Spin 3 laptop is also a new device destined to offer buyers "all-day productivity and entertainment".

Lastly, Acer has updated the convertible Spin 3 with eighth-generation Intel processors. "The new Nitro 5 is created to tackle these needs and features a striking exterior for added uniqueness". It would be available for sale in Europe later with a price tag of 1,699 Euros (Rs 1,29,329 approximately). It is available with touch or non-touch display and comes with Google Play support at launch.

Given the Intel Core i7 processor and 8GB RAM on board, we're not yet convinced the alleged 10 hours of battery life per charge will ring true, based on what the laptop on show was projecting, but with so little chassis space there's not a huge amount of room for the battery cells.
