In fact, such is the bond between the former Bihar Chief Minister and his aides, that the Ranchi police on Tuesday said that, two of Lalu's aides got themselves convicted in a false case so that the duo can serve the RJD supremo, who is now lodged in the Birsa Munda Central jail.

Interesting events have come to light in the wake of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav's incarceration in Ranchi's Birsa Munda Central Jail. RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav said those who are levelling the allegations should show footage or some evidence to back the accusations. The RJD jumped in defence of its leader and said that the presence of the two, Laxman Mahto and Madan Yadav was a mere coincidence.

Laxman Mahto is a known face as Lalu's personal aide and helper while Madan Yadav was his active sidekick whenever he was in Ranchi.

Patna/Ranchi: Bihar Health minister Mangal Pandey on Tuesday said jailed RJD chief Lalu Prasad was not only a corrupt person but was closely connected to criminals.

In the case, which pertains to fraudulent withdrawals worth Rs 37 crore by the Bihar animal husbandry department from Chaibasa district treasury (now in Jharkhand) in the erstwhile united Bihar, Lalu is an accused along with 29 others. Both Madan and Laxman appeared before the CJM's court and were sent to Birsa Munda jail the same day.

According to the Times of India, the two accused had hatched the plan to land themselves in trouble, which would lead to their imprisonment in the same jail as Lalu. "He has no reason to snatch or steal". A police official said, "We weren't aware that the two surrendered before the court and were sent to jail". When Ranchi's Doranda police station refused to accept the complaint, Sumit went to the Lower Bazar police station to register an FIR. Madan, a resident of Hinoo in Ranchi, had served as Lalu's cook in Ranchi, it is learnt. "However, in this case none of these norms was followed".
