Manchester City's Fernandinho ready to battle through tiredness

Saturday's goalless draw at Crystal Palace was the first time in 18 league matches that City had failed to take maximum points, and the more optimistic of their rivals hoped it was a sign that their momentum was petering out.

Sergio Aguero sealed the victory in the 63rd minute before a late Watford consolation from Andre Gray.

Aguero missed two chances before halftime, and another soon after the break.

Fernandinho was delighted to see De Bruyne and Silva working well together, adding that City need to be at full strength as they chase success in four competitions.

Despite being in a commanding position with 17 games remaining, City will be concerned in particular with the injury to Jesus, who limped off in tears with a left leg injury midway through the first half after falling awkwardly.

Mr McLachlan, 52, described the claims, made by fellow cast members of the 2014 The Rocky Horror Show in which he starred, as "simple inventions".

The result comes on the heels of a goalless draw against Crystal Palace on December 31 that ended Man City's 18-match win streak, but the three points did restore their 15-point lead over Manchester United at the top of the table. You get a different insight into how we play and see it from a bird's eye view in the stand. Sadly the run got stopped at Crystal Palace but we're just back to winning ways and that's good.

Talking about David Silva, the manager said, "We are very happy David Silva is back with us". They don't protect the players, they are the people we come to watch - not the managers or the press conferences. "Please, referees, they have to protect players". I don't think anything is going to happen because the tradition is the tradition but just think a little bit about the players, please. Guardiola's Man City face their fourth match in 11 days when they go up against Watford on the 2nd January. The federations don't think about the players but they have to. I'm not saying change Boxing Day, the great tradition, but you can not play at Selhurst Park, hope to celebrate New Year's Eve but are thinking about the game two days later.

"We dropped two points today but we could have dropped against Huddersfield or Southampton".

However, despite missing striker Gabriel Jesus, who has suffered a serious knee ligament injury, City were too strong for an out-of-form Watford team who have now lost six of the last seven Premier League games. I have a lot of experience with that.
