Short playoff run still a memory of a lifetime for thousands

The win sets up a rematch against Pittsburgh next week. But in a world where it had been 10 years since a Jaguars playoff run and 19 years since a home playoff victory, Jacksonville's survival against the Buffalo Bills has huge ramifications for a city and team eager for a deep postseason stretch. Ugly? Theyll gladly take that.

Buffalo is scheduled to have the 21st and 22nd picks in the draft, the second acquired in a draft-day trade of first-round picks with the Chiefs in April. This was the lowest-scoring playoff game since January 3, 1997 (Pittsburgh Steelers 7, New England Patriots 6 that day).

The Steelers are next, 1 p.m. next Sunday in Pittsburgh. The Steelers were housed by the Jaguars, 30-9, ijn Week 5 at Heinz Field. Given new life by a fourth-down offside penalty by the Jaguars, the Bills had first-and-goal at the 1-yard line late in the second quarter.

On Sunday, the Buffalo Bills squared off against the Jacksonville Jaguars in their first playoff appearance in seventeen years. Both quarterbacks were sacked twice during the game.

Taylor's helmet slammed hard against the ground after getting thrown down by Dante Fowler Jr.

An NFL starting quarterback threw for less than 100 yards and won a playoff game today. After another back and forth affair with punts, Buffalo punted with 3:09 left on the clock but was able to get it back to put the ball in Taylor's hands to win the game. In its final three games, Buffalo scored one touchdown on eight trips inside an opponent's 20, including settling for a field goal despite six snaps from inside the Jacksonville 15 on Sunday.

"We weren't sharp, we made some bad plays and did some stupid stuff, but we found a way to win and that's all that matters", Bortles said.

The lone touchdown came late in the third quarter, on a fourth-and-goal play from the 1 with the score tied at 3.

Game. Blouses. That was the difference.

Buffalo backup quarterback Nathan Peterman completed a 14-yard comeback pass to receiver Deonte Thompson on cornerback A.J. Bouye to the Jaguars' 38-yard line with 48 seconds left in the game.

Bortles completed 12 of 23 for just 87 yards but repeatedly was able to make critical plays with his legs.

Defensive units seized command from the start in Buffalo's first playoff game since 1999 and Jacksonville's first playoff contest since 2007.

Prior to the injury, Taylor earned a little more trust with Bills head coach Sean McDermott and offensive coordinator Rick Dennison than Bortles did with the Jags' staff. He stayed down on the field after a gain of two yards as Bills' players surrounded him and trainers examined him. Though, that hasn't helped our first two home teams this wild card weekend. This season, Fournette had over 1,000 rushing yards and ran for nine rushing touchdowns. No matter what happens during the course of a game, he has that belief that he can go down and lead us on any given drive.

McCoy was pretty incredible, all things considered. Taylor also had seven rushes for a total of 27 yards.

"It's been enjoyable, especially the people, all Bills fans are great so it's really nice to enjoy them with all of them", Johnson said. Credit to the Jaguars' offensive staff for not pussyfooting in the second half, an approach that didn't work early on. They had 84 yards on 26 plays.
