Former All-Star point guard Derrick Rose will reunite with his former Chicago Bulls colleagues in Minnesota, as he signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the remainder of the season, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Cleveland subsequently dealt the 2010-11 MVP to the Jazz at the trade deadline along with Jae Crowder, but Utah released him shortly after the deal was completed so he could pursue a new chance elsewhere.

Thibodeau coached Rose during his time with the Chicago Bulls.

There's no telling how Rose will fit with the Timberwolves roster as a whole, but we already know that he is intimately familiar with his former teammates and with Thibodeau's system.

Worley, the Panthers' third-round draft pick in 2016, started 14 games this season with 64 tackles, two interceptions and a sack. The trade reached on Friday won't be officially announced until the NFL's league year opens next Wednesday.

Rose may debut as early as Thursday night (Friday, Manila time), when Minnesota plays host to Boston.

The Timberwolves were interested in signing Rose past year during National Basketball Association free agency. That's what our expectations are: "come in, be a good teammate, try to help us win", Thibodeau said after the morning shootaround. He's been around, he's been in a lot of games. Rose had been with the team since he was selected first overall in the 2008 NBA Draft. They're in sixth place in a tight Western Conference race where four games separate the eight teams from third to 10th. The question moving forward is whether Rose will see regular minutes off the bench since Tyus Jones has done an excellent job backing up Jeff Teague all season long. "I just want to win and help this team and franchise win". I'm not a selfish player.

Rose has career averages of 19.2 points and 5.8 assists in 486 games over nine seasons.

He has only played 16 times this season due to an ankle injury and has averaged just 9.8 points per game with 1.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists.
