Manicaland celebrates International Women's Day

Quoting a recent Afrobarometer survey, CDD indicated that statistics had shown that a large majority (72%) of Ghanaians "agree" or "agree very strongly" that women should have the same chance of being elected to political office as men.

The origins of International Women's Day dates back to 1910 with the International Socialist Woman's Conference suggesting the event take place on March 8. Centres where women are talked out of abortion are being opened and the so-called post-abortion syndrome is being talked about even though its existence has been scientifically contested.

Al Darabi said that one of the main initiatives of UNIC for 2018 is women development and to transfer the momentum to relentlessly working towards giving them equal rights in the society.
