National Super Alliance co-principal Musalia Mudavadi on Saturday dismissed the truce reached by President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga, terming it as a "conceited and selfish" agreement between two individuals.

Odinga who later boycotted the October 26 presidential polls citing uneven playing field had vowed not to recognize Kenyatta's presidency.

It was the first joint public appearance of its kind by the two politicians since 2013. "With a fast-growing GDP ... a vibrant culture of entrepreneurship, and a regional economic leader, we are eager to find more ways to work with you".

Opposition supremo Raila Odinga and his Nakuru ally Koigi wa Wamwere have in most occasions, despite at times taking different political routes, end up in the same political vehicle. "Elections come and go, but Kenya remains", Kenyatta said.

"The US is glad to see Kenya building investor confidence because that will help in the growth of the economy", the US Secretary of State stated.

With continued black outs and unstable energy transmission systems, Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta has called upon investors to exploit opportunities in power transmission in Kenya.

U.S. Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, said on Friday in Nairobi he had shared his concerns with Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta about the importance of democracy.

In a statement posted to Facebook on Friday, he called the rapprochement "a fundamental betrayal of the innocent Kenyans who have lost their lives" supporting Odinga in several elections over the last decade. "We need to get out of this cycle of just these two men, or a few people at the top, meeting", he said.

"This is the moment for our country to stand together and build the bridges of friendship, brotherhood and unity so as to take this country to another level", said Mr Ruto.
