Antonio Conte lauds Willian as Chelsea set sights on Barcelona

Antonio Conte has insisted he will ask Eden Hazard to play as a "false nine" again if he feels it will benefit Chelsea and believes his players should express any dissatisfaction with their roles internally.

Whether you deem this information to be even remotely believable is up to you, but regardless, it seems doubtful that we'd been keen to part with any of them in the summer - especially following the hard campaign that we've endured with them at our disposal.

Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard stated that the side will have to bring out their best game if they have to get past Barcelona to seal a berth in the quarterfinals of the Champions League. "I am a big fan of Conte", Bellamy told Sky Sports. "We are playing against one of the best teams in the world so we must pay great attention, having the same focus, the same attention as the first leg against Barcelona". He didn't play a lot of games but, despite this, his commitment is incredible and he helped me a lot in the changing room.

"We didn't take a lot of chances", was how the head coach Conte put it, but that barely touched on the issues. If you look at the stats, we conceded only two shots to Manchester City: one they scored, and another after a free kick and [Cesar Azpilicueta] saved it on the line. It was just their fifth win from 16 games in 2018. Otherwise, I can take another decision and play with a striker. In front of the players.

Antonio Conte has explained why John Terry visited Chelsea training earlier this week.

Conte was forced to defend his tactical approach amid widespread criticism after the match, but the Italian is adamant that he will continue to vary his attacking set-up as the situation requires, while also reaffirming his trust Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud.

Conte said: "This win was very important".

The Blues lost back-to-back games against Manchester United and Manchester City and now sit in fifth position, five points behind fourth placed Tottenham Hotspur. It was all about the three points from the word go, however we got them. And in the first-half Chelsea were barely obliged to move out of second gear, never mind suffer.

And this is what he says will be required if his team are to inflict a first home defeat on Barcelona this season.
