It's been an up-and-down season for the Florida State Seminoles, but will end with an NCAA Tournament appearance.

When the event that gives Selection Sunday its name began at 6 p.m., Florida only waited 10 minutes to learn that it was in the tournament.

The Tigers (20-12, 10-8 SEC) were given an 8 seed by the tournament's selection committee, which was announced Sunday on the NCAA Tournament Selection Show. They pose an interesting matchup, since their biggest star Michael Porter Jr. was injured for all but two games in the regular season. This time, the 'Noles would be playing a No. 1 regional seed if they advance and Xavier wins its first-round game.

Missouri has suspended forward Jordan Barnett for the Tigers' opening game Friday of the NCAA tournament after the team's second-leading scorer was arrested for suspicion of DWI early Saturday morning. Things changed this season under Martin as the Tigers returned to relevancy in a stronger, deeper Southeastern Conference, becoming one of eight SEC programs to make the field of 68. The victor will go on to play the winner of Xavier and NC Central/Texas Southern. The University of Missouri student athlete handbook states a driving while intoxicated charge mandates a week minimum suspension. I'm not sure how we'll start lineups. The Gators could do nothing to help or hinder their NCAA Tournament seeding.

But a defensive error allowed Dani Carvajal to cross and Ronaldo headed in. The victory moves Real four points within second-placed Atletico Madrid.

The Seminoles enter the 2018 NCAA Tournament with four wins over nationally ranked teams - No. 5 Florida (Dec. 4, 83-66), No. 10 North Carolina (Jan. 3, 81-80), No. 11 Clemson (Feb. 14, 81-80 in overtime) and No. 24 Miami (Jan. 27, 103-94 in overtime).

The Tigers earned an at-large bid to the tournament.

This result was in question as late as two weeks ago.

This will be the Seminoles 16th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
