PM Modi to observe a day-long fast on April 12

Besides Modi, Home minister Rajnath Singh, Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Commerce minister Suresh Prabhu will observe the fast here.

Sources had yesterday said that while observing the fast, he will not disturb his daily official routine. The day-long fast will be observed to protest the deadlock in Parliament, for which he blamed the Congress.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi will observe a day-long fast on 12 April but he will continue with his official engagements".

The Prime Minister announced that he would be fasting on Thursday in protest against the disruption of the Parliament's budget session by the opposition.

Amit Shah will observe a hunger strike in Hubli in poll-bound Karnataka, while party MPs will fast in their constituencies.
