Trump weighs rejoining the TPP

The proposal came during a White House meeting with lawmakers and governors after Sen. Trade advisers say the department could use a program known as the Commodity Credit purchase potentially billions of dollars of crops from American farmers harmed by tariffs. The Trans-Pacific Partnership would open more overseas markets for American farmers.

There are few differences between the TPP the US signed and the CPTPP.

Politicians, including some from his own party, are anxious that he is leading the USA into a damaging economic battle with China, after levying tariffs on steel and aluminium and threatening taxes on billions more in Chinese goods.
