Classic SEGA games are being released on the Nintendo Switch

Back in the 1990s, Nintendo and Sega were in virtual hand-to-hand combat for dominance in gaming consoles, and they each had their own gaming franchises, Nintendo with Mario, and Sega with Sonic the Hedgehog. World of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, Aladdin, Micro Machines, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Desert Strike. Here's something we do know, though. The tweet's since been deleted, but NintendoLife grabbed a snapshot of it.

News that Sega is once again turning to AtGames is a concern for many Mega Drive/Genesis fans, but things could be different this time around.

On the heels of NIS America announcing that it will release a compilation of classic SNK games on the Switch, Sega is following suit. Shenmue 1 and 2, meanwhile, are making their way to the PS4, Xbox One and PC later this year.

Following yesterday's news about the Sega Ages lineup for Nintendo Switch, the company has since come out with even more news about the initiative.

Sega is getting in on the nostalgic, miniature console trend. All Sega has confirmed is that the console is arriving in 2018.
