De Bruyne may have missed out at the PFA awards, but he scored a magnificent goal as Man City celebrated winning the Premier League with a 5-0 demolition of Swansea on Sunday. "I am happy and proud", Egypt worldwide Salah said.

The Egypt worldwide saw off competition from the Manchester City trio of Kevin De Bruyne, Leroy Sane and David Silva to become the second African player to win the award after Riyad Mahrez of Leicester in 2016.

Salah will be hoping to add to his tally when Liverpool take on Roma at home Tuesday night in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie.

"Only a few weeks ago we were all hailing Manchester City as one of the greatest sides to win the Premier League".

Six Liverpool players won the Player of the Year award before Mohamed Salah, yet the Egyptian is the first to grab the title on his debut season.

"There's something special [about De Bruyne]", Pienaar concluded, "I think Kevin would get my vote if I had one". With the club just 180 minutes away from a Champions League Final, well positioned to qualify for next year's competition with a top four finish and finally get their own stadium, Roma fans are only focused on the future and not dwelling on whether they got it wrong with Salah. Off the field, he's a fantastic human and he has a great passion for football and you can see that with how we're playing. The Belgian looked like the only realistic choice for the award through the first half of the season, but Salah's form since the turn of the year inspired a re-think.

The figures show a split between those who voted Leave and those who voted Remain in the referendum. They've been asking No. 10 to commit to making any vote on the Customs Union "a confidence vote".

"When he left, he went to Fiorentina to work on his confidence, and I was never surprised".

Salah has scored 31 goals in 33 Premier League games for Klopp's free-scoring Liverpool side and leads the race for the golden boot.

Sane, who joined City in 2016, also described the team as "perfect" and credited their efforts in helping him win the award.

According to James Carroll, editor for the official Liverpool FC website, Salah asked for his captain, Jordan Henderson, to be in attendance because he wanted to have Liverpool as a team represented at the event to share the honour with them.

Currently, Liverpool is third in the Premier League, behind Manchester City and Manchester United.

"We are very close now, in the [Champions League] semi-final, so hopefully we're going to win it".
