It is believed that the OLED panel accounts for about one-third of the total production cost of an iPhone X, which is now experiencing much lower sales than expected. Sure, it would be a lot harder o differentiate last year's iPhone X to this year's iPhone X in writing, but we could always use years or generation count rather than having an actual number in the name. Today, we've got more details. A new report now claims that the LCD iPhone will be priced aggressively in the $799 range. It's estimated that Apple bought about 50 million OLED panels from Samsung in 2017. Other measures adopted could include making use of a single rear camera, removal of 3D touch, cost reduction in the materials used among others. In order to do that, DigiTimes reports that Apple requires 25 million OLED panels for the existing iPhone X, but a further 75 million for the new models. Even Korean police also raided the company's offices in November, ahead of the iPhone X's launch to ask "questions about its business practices" according to Metro.

Coming to the other two models, the report says that the 5.8-inch OLED variant, also called the "Porsche" model, may not come with "significant design changes". It states that the pricing strategy will help push iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s users to upgrade to the "iPhone 8S or the "Jaguar" model".

The Washingon Post says Harris has "already told Pompeo he is willing to switch roles and serve in South Korea". South Korea and the U.S. are now planning to hold respective summits with North Korea.

This move wouldn't be anything new for Apple, or the tech industry as a whole, as the iPad has already undergone a similar branding change. According to previous reports, the company will introduce a 6.5-inch OLED model, a 5.8-inch OLED model, and a 6.1-inch LCD model.

The LCD model is said to sport an iPhone X-like notch, but the handset will have a bottom bezel due to the "limitations of LCD screen technology". Sources, however, expect the price to drop from $110 per panel to $100. The larger model may also come with a dual-SIM slot, and support for a stylus.
