After Shreyas won the toss and elected to field, Chennai posted 211-4 in their 20 overs, with Shane Watson (78) putting on a 102-run stand with fellow opener Faf du Plessis (33). Rishabh Pant and Vijay Shankar tried hard but failed to reach the target Rishabh Pant (79 off 45) and Vijay Shankar (51* off 31) ensured Daredevils get closer to the target but it was not enough as they ended at 198 for five.

Chasing, hopes were high on the Delhi team who have showed everyone on more than one occasion that they have the capacity to score big. Lungi Ngidi was brilliant on debut and he should be a regular in the next few matches at least. This was 13 too many for Daredevils, despite contrasting half-centuries from Rishabh Pant and Vijay Shankar.

Their stuttering campaign back on the rails under new skipper Shreyas Iyer, a resurgent Delhi Daredevils will play table-toppers Chennai Super Kings in a crucial Indian Premier League match on Monday. While the result at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune didn't come as a surprise, there was one amusing incident during the game that amused one and all.

In the points table, Chennai Super Kings is at the second place with 10 points and the team Delhi Daredevils is at the last place with 4 points.

The South African Captain has appreciated CSK skipper MS Dhoni for his exceptional hitting ability. His tornado of an innings saw Chennai get past the 200 run mark easily.

The stage was set by the risky Shane Watson. The orange cap leader amassed five fours before he was run out. On Monday, he once again missed out on a half-century this IPL - he has been dismissed on 39, 49 and 46 previously - when Rayudu was run out for 41 against the Daredevils.

Ambati Rayudu's red-hot form is one of the reasons why CSK have been so successful this year. Deepak Chahar, the uncapped fast bowler, was missing out due to an injury whereas Shardul Thakur was left out of the XI. He has scored 286 runs in eight games using an average of 71.50 plus also a strike-rate of 169.23.

Rayudu has delivered for CSK when asked to open and even he was required to bat at the number four position.

Dhoni and Rayudu were at their destructive best as the duo hammered Delhi bowlers towards the end of the innings and accumulated 79 runs in last six overs.

However, Delhi needs to continue their winning spree to keep themselves in the play-off hunt.

Coming back to the CSK vs DD match highlights, leaking runs worse than a bucket with holes, Delhi's bowling proved to be their demise yet again.
