Prince William and Kate Middleton officially register Prince Louis' birth - see certificate

The Duchess of Cambridge is expected to return to her royal duties in the fall as she takes time to care for her family.

The new prince was born exactly a week ago, after Kate was admitted to hospital early Monday morning, and his name was finally announced on Friday, after a week of speculation as to what moniker the Cambridges would pick for their third child.

After a long four days of waiting to find out what the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had chose to name their third child, fans are now left confused over how they should be pronouncing the new baba's name. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.

Back in 1917, King George V (AKA the Queen's grandfather) decided there were too many people known as Prince or Princess, so he chose to limit the number.

Although technically a princess in the royal family, Kate is not referred to as Princess Kate and has been given the official title of Duchess.

On Tuesday, Prince Louis's birth certificate was released, and for the most part, it looks exactly the same as a regular one, except for two small details: Under "occupation" for his mom and dad, Kate Middleton and Prince William, it reads "Princess of the United Kingdom" and "Prince of the United Kingdom".

He's expected to have an easier time in the full Senate, though the tally will still likely be close. It is very unusual for a secretary of state nominee to face such opposition.

Charlotte took centre stage on the day her baby brother Prince Louis was born when she visited him in hospital.

By the evening, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared on the steps of the Lindo Wing with their still unnamed son.

By the end of the week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had named their new little Prince- Louis Arthur Charles.

She happily watched the flypast, grinning as the military aircraft flew over the Queen's London home.

He is also the first male royal who will not overtake his sister in the line of succession after the reform that ended male primogeniture. His middle name Charles, of course, comes from his paternal grandfather, The Prince of Wales.
