Instagram commences trials on its newly developed in-app payment tool

We have witnessed many new features in WhatsApp after its acquisition by the Facebook and all these features are being loved by the users, we have seen the better privacy control features, new status/stories, way better interface and now the UPI based payments feature.

Snapchat has a similar feature called Snapcash where the users can put in their debit and credit card information and use it for payments within the app.

After announcing a group video calling feature along with new stickers on Whatsapp last week, the popular chatting app has released a new update to the iOS version of the app. Whatsapp for iOS update 2.18.51 introduces a new feature that will enable iPhone and iPad users to watch Facebook and Instagram videos directly on Whatsapp.

A restaurant app, Resy is one of the first to partner with Instagram and include the payment option on its Instagram page.

Till now this feature has not been rolled out global level, some users have received it while others not. The native in-app payment feature combined with in-app purchases can, therefore, be more easily accessible and attractable for all the users. If you can see the feature rolling out, you'll find it in your profile settings under "payments settings". Insta payments is not as diverse as WhatsApp. At the time of acquisition in 2014, WhatsApp had just 450 million monthly active users and 315 million daily active users and now WhatsApp has more than 1.5 billion users and these users are sharing more than 60 billion messages every day. It let users transfer money to bank accounts and also pay for goods and services bought offline. Now at F8 Developer Conference, Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg has acknowledged the departure of the Koum. This means users will be able to book movie tickets via the Instagram app.

"As 800 million use Instagram each month to discover and follow their passions, more and more people are using it to connect with businesses they love", Instagram said in a blog post celebrating reaching 25 million listed business a year ago.

Now, online shopping in Instagram would offer great experience to buyers.
