In all other ways, the Cullinan offers the expected heady cocktail of unmistakable Rolls-Royce design cues, finely-crafted interior, and engineering excellence.

On sale later this year, the new Cullinan will sit underneath the Phantom in regards to the asking price, but still hover around the £230-300k mark.

Exposed metal tailpipes stick out from each side of the rear bumper, which Rolls-Royce says reinforce the Cullinan's "power and ability". The vehicle is built using Rolls-Royce's "architecture of luxury", which means it has an all-aluminium spaceframe architecture.

The design of the Cullinan is certainly a breath of fresh air given the current onslaught of high-riding hatchbacks and wagons masquerading as SUVs.

Whether it's as [the] starting group or extra minutes, and obviously the lineup worked or whatever, but it's not about the lineup. New Orleans has the ability to pound the ball in the paint, which was a critical part of them winning Game 3 of the series.

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan SUV is finally going to debut this week on May 10, which the brand calls "the most anticipated Rolls-Royce of all time".

The company sensibly seems to have largely ditched its previous smoke and mirrors in labelling the Cullinan a "high-sided vehicle" rather than an SUV, with the Rolls referred to by the latter term at the private viewing for customers and media. Well, just a casual 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 with 571 horsepower. This helps keep road noise down and allows the boot to be opened without disturbing rear-seat occupants. It's been re-engineered by adding larger air struts with greater air volume and by strengthening the drive and prop shafts to cushion blows from the toughest terrain-though it's most of the buyers of this epic SUV probably won't be taking it to Moab. Come to think of it, it's a new chapter for the luxury industry. The reason? So you don't get covered in muck when getting in or out. Top speed is electronically limited to 250kph. The Lounge Seat layout is the more functional of the two and has space for three passengers in a traditional bench-style single seat, which can be electrically folded in a number of configurations. The gas-guzzler tax, estimated to be roughly $5,000 for that 18.8 miles per gallon rating, will also apply.

The grille is created from hand-polished stainless steel. Deliveries should begin in 2019. The Rolls-Royce badge and bonnet ornament ride well above the line of the wing, for a unique vantage point. The standard equipment includes night vision system, a four-camera view system with panoramic view, all-round visibility, and helicopter view, collision warning, cross-traffic warning, lane departure and lane change warnings, WiFi hotspot, and many more.
