Following another tough battle with the Boston Celtics, the Philadelphia 76ers officially watched their season come to an end on Wednesday after a tough 114-112 loss in Game 5 to put an end to what was an intense semifinals series.

In order to build on the foundation that the Sixers built this season in terms of success, Embiid knows that both he and Ben Simmons need to step their game up, and learn from this experience. Despite the disappointing result, Joel Embiid says the Sixers are as optimistic as ever.

The Celtics hit enough free throws over the final 10.8 seconds to secure a 114-112 victory and close out the second-round National Basketball Association playoff series.

"I can't believe that happened", Freeman said. And going into the playoffs we felt like we had a really good chance, especially after winning 16 in a row (to close the regular season).

Back came Williams, and a century break to go one frame away from victory suggested his nerves had settled. Though, it was the first time he has conducted the post-victory press conference wearing just a towel.

Of course for things to move forward, it will take work, lots of work and that starts with Allen Iverson's most remembered word "practice". "This is a process to get to the playoffs, we did it". We got a lot of talented guys; we didn't play our best. "[Simmons] came up to me, showed me his hands, and he was like 'There's going to be a lot of rings on these'".

"I don't want to offend any of the other places I have been", Redick said, per Evan Macy of Philly Voice, "or teams I have been on but this was probably my favorite year of my career".

Sixers fans will love this confidence amongst their own players as it truly means there could be a bright future ahead of this group of players.
