For the Warriors, Klay Thompson came up big once again in an elimination Game 6, dropping 35 points, including nine 3-pointers.

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry (30) drives against Houston Rockets forward P.J. Tucker (4) during the first half of Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals in Oakland on Saturday. "It's our job to go out there and have fun with it and do the same thing we've been doing".

China Klay showed us a different side of Thompson, and for just a second you might have thought he was on the court for Golden State's 115-86 Game 6 win over the Houston Rockets.

But Golden State came back strong in the third quarter, going 7-for-11 from three.

Harden harkened back to a team-bonding trip the Rockets took to the Bahamas over the summer, saying he would have readily accepted at the time an opportunity to play a Game 7 at home with a chance to advance to the NBA Finals.

"I thought Klay was incredible tonight, not just for 35 points and the nine threes, but his defense", Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. "The guy's a machine". Golden State eventually found some sort of rhythm in the second quarter, bringing the deficit back down to 10 by halftime.

That's how they looked in the second half of Game 1, over the final 45 minutes of Game 3 and over the final 36 minutes of Game 6.

Soon, the rout was on. "So you've just got to keep playing with whoever's there and keep going".

"I hate when anybody gets hurt".

Since Kerr took over as coach in 2015, the Warriors are 36-6 at home in the postseason, including an NBA-record 16-game winning streak that was snapped in their 95-92 loss in Game 4.

Serena Williams Will Play At The 2018 French Open Unseeded
Several of Williams's fiercest competitors seem to agree that the 23-time Grand Slam champion should be seeded. If you are forced out for a specific reason, whether it be maternity or injury, you need to be protected.

"We lost people in transition".

We may actually never know if this was actually the same play which Duncan passed along, but regardless, it'd be an awesome story. "It was sort of a head scratcher. But the defense eventually kicked in, and obviously that led to transition, and the shotmaking in the second half was just wonderful". Not only was Thompson terrific offensively, but he played a major role in slowing down James Harden in the second half.

Eric Gordon, who started in place of the injured Chris Paul, started Houston off by making his first three buckets - two of them 3s and another a fast break layup on a Golden State turnover. So I think we've been trying to get more and more movement and mix in the KD isos against the mismatches.

The lack of defensive focus that plagued Golden State early was mirrored by the Rockets late. "That first quarter we did a really good job of communicating, limiting them on threes, just contesting everything, making everything hard".

The teams meet one final time in Houston on Tuesday (NZ time), with the victor advancing to the NBA Finals to face either the Boston Celtics or Cleveland Cavaliers, who play their Game 7 in Boston on Monday.

"Nothing changes for us".

"But we knew this was hard". I had teammates who literally played one play in a playoff game and made a play and helped us win a game. "If I get the nod from the trainers, Chris and the doctors, then he'll be ready to go", D'Antoni said in a conference call Sunday evening.

"That felt good, to be honest", Thompson said. "I like where we are".

The winners will meet either Cleveland Cavaliers or Boston Celtics in the National Basketball Association finals.
