"Hany Abo Rida (EFA president) has made a decision to travel to Spain on Wednesday with Egypt's national team doctor Mohamed Abo al-Ela to meet with Salah and Liverpool's medical team", EFA said in a statement released late Monday.

Salah, Liverpool's 44-goal leading scorer, had to leave the pitch midway through the first half of Saturday's Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid after spraining ligaments during a tangle with defender Sergio Ramos. Being unable to continue, the tearful Salah was replaced by Adam Lallana for the rest of the game.

But Salah said in a Twitter post that despite the disappointment of what he called a "tough night", he was confident of recovering in time to partake in the Pharaohs World Cup campaign in Russian Federation.

Salah was instrumental to Egypt's qualification, scoring the penalty that sealed their place in the Mundial for the first time since 1990.

As the 25-year-old forward departed the field, he was visibly distraught, with tears streaming down the Egyptian's face after being forced to vacate the field early.

Many took to social media to vent their frustrations after the game, with "Son of dirt", "Ramos the dog" and "Son of shoes" trending on Twitter in Egypt. "He is sad about what happened, but he is totally focused on recovery and seeing when he can be ready", Pons told a Spanish daily.

The Egyptian found himself on the wrong end of a Judo challenge from everyone's favourite shithouser, Sergio Ramos, with his shoulder bearing the brunt of the impact. "I think we have all the tools at Liverpool as well to help him with that".

However, EFA chief Rida says the Premier League Player of the Year will be fit for Egypt's Group A game against Russian Federation, but will miss "The Pharaohs" opening game versus Uruguay on June 15 at Ekaterinburg Arena.
