The video shows what appears to be a Spartan warrior kicking a Persian "Immortal" off a cliff.

Ubisoft has officially revealed Assassin's Creed: Odyssey on Twitter with a short clip.

Beyond the tweet, information about the title's gameplay mechanics, storyline, and protagonist is scarce. This is most likely referring to the revamped movement and combat systems for Origins, and the addition of new microtransactions and levelling up.

According to the site (via Google Translate), one insider sent an Assassin's Creed Odyssey keychain in the form of a Spartan head.

It looks like Assassin's Creed will be reverting back to its yearly release schedule.

Ubisoft did not immediately respond when asked for comment.

Mega Man 11 PC And Console Release Date Confirmed

What do you think of the Assassin's Creed Odyssey reveal?

JeuxVideoLive reports that their source says Odyssey will be a direct sequel to Origins, but Kotaku says, "The builds we've heard about did not feature Origins' main characters Bayek or Aya, but new heroes".

As with all rumors, take this with the proverbial grain of salt.

Assassin's Creed has been the subject of some of the most frequent (and occasionally abstract) leaks of any major video game franchise over the past several years, so we're immediately inclined to believe this is legitimate.

Stay tuned for more as it develops.
