IPL betting scam: Salman Khan's brother Arbaaz summoned, Twitter bets he'll escape

While most were irked by the celeb's connection and asked if he too would be "left" outside the law like his brother Salman Khan, others made a decision to troll the Dabaang star.

Now the latest development in the case is that the Thane Police have summoned Arbaaz Khan in connection with the case. Police say they have photographic and electronic evidence to prove that Arbaaz and Jalan are more than "just friends".

It appears that there is an ongoing investigation regarding an IPL betting case in relation to the bookie Sonu Jalan, who was arrested on betting charges, as reported by Indian Express.

The Police further revealed that there are also names of Bollywood celebrities.

The channels also showed pictures of Arbaaz and Jalan together.

The police said Jalan travelled to Sri Lanka during an worldwide tournament in 2016 and a probe is on to find out if there was any betting-linked match-fixing at the time.

"During investigation, it was found that Arbaaz was being threatened by Jalan as he had lost money on one of the matches", said said Pradeep Sharma, senior police inspector from Thane anti extortion cell.

Apparently, after arresting Jalan, it was found out that the bookie had a connection with Khan who as per reports had placed a bet through top bookies.

Sonu uses a software "Bet and Take" for bets both in India and internationally. He was operating the betting racket from Mumbai and was arrested on Tuesday.
