NBA Finals 2018: Warriors vs. Cavs Game 3 Updates

Behind a monster game from Kevin Durant, the Warriors overcame Cleveland's most balanced effort of the series along with poor shooting nights from Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the NBA Finals with a 110-102 win. So that's the luxury of having guys like that that you can always - any given moment, they can kind of go off for a game. If James continues to play like he did against Boston then people would have to at least give them a chance for him to capture his fourth ring.

It came on a night when no other Warriors player got it going offensively. In addition to the usual suspects, JaVale McGee made the most of his first start since May 5 by scoring 12 points in just 18 minutes on 6-of-6 shooting, while backup guard Shaun Livingston was excellent with 10 points and five rebounds off the bench.

The Cavaliers' next-door neighbors planned to attend Game 3.

Without Iguodala, the Warriors dispatched the Rockets in the Western Conference final series and have pushed to a 2-0 lead over the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.

Golden State will now have four chances to wrap up its title starting with Game 4 on Friday night.

Bad news for the Cavaliers: Golden State has all the other points in the third quarter. According to Haynes, Iguodala sprinted full speed without pain, one of the prerequisites for head coach Steve Kerr to consider putting him on the court during the NBA Finals.

Curry and his fellow Splash Bro, Klay Thompson, are now tied for the most three-pointers made in a single postseason at 98, a record that will likely stand for a very long time (unless one of the two breaks it themselves).

Kyrie Irving's Game 7 absence explained after Mark Jackson criticism
Irving's agent, Jeff Wechsler, told ESPN that Irving couldn't fly because of the surgery, but did want to attend the game. There must be something going around Boston because Irving's teammate Aron Baynes is also dealing with a nose injury.

The mystery is gone, and Golden State - which hasn't lost four consecutive games in the same season since 2013, back when Mark Jackson was coaching the Warriors instead of calling their games on ABC and ESPN - needs only to avoid an apocalyptic collapse to win their third title in four years.

For the second straight game the Warriors off-ball movement - such as their split screens, or the Warriors just slipping a screen - confused a Cavaliers defense that is trying to switch everything but is not defensively disciplined enough to do it. Hill was unable to get a shot off in time and the game went to overtime.

And if Stephen Curry makes one 3-pointer in Game 3, he will become the first player in National Basketball Association history with a 3-pointer in 43 consecutive playoff road games.

James scored 33 points and Kevin Love added 20 for the Cavs, who have fallen into a hole in which no team has ever emerged.

James recorded his 10th triple-double of the playoffs and it didn't matter.

Two Finals games after, it turns out the negative reaction was exaggerated, of course. "We've just got to do a better job of taking away the easy dunks and layups around the basket".

James arrived at 6 p.m. dressed more casually - camouflage trousers, purple hoodie, "Billionaire Boys Club" baseball cap - than on the road where he and the Cavs have been wearing suits during the postseason. The veteran swingman has missed six games since then.
