This outrage at 20th Century Fox has resonated with other similar-minded producers who have programs running on the company, including Steve Levitan, creator of Modern Family, which airs on ABC but is produced by Fox Television.

Levitan, 56, pointed to comments by host Laura Ingraham that child-detention centers were "essentially summer camps".

"I look forward to seeing #ModernFamily through to the end and then, sale or no sale, setting up shop elsewhere", he added.

"Not one new person who works for Fox or at Fox has spoken up strongly about their news channel supporting ripping families apart", Apatow later tweeted.

On Monday, Apatow, who has created TV shows for 20th Century Fox, called for Fox network's stars to condemn Trump and his "propaganda arm", Fox News, over coverage of migrant families at the U.S. -Mexico border.

Of Carlson's comments, MacFarlane tweeted, "In other words, don't think critically, don't consult multiple news sources, and in general, don't use your brain". Last November, he switched agencies from WME to CAA, as he started negotiations on a potential new overall deal with Fox TV.

Kansai Electric Power said no irregularities had been detected at the Mihama, Takahama and Ohi nuclear plants after the quake. Auto makers Honda, Mitsubishi, Toyota and Daihatsu all stopped production at plants in the region.

Apatow also spoke up on Monday. We all choose who to work with.

Tensions between Fox News and the company's entertainment operations have flared in recent days, fueled by concerns about how the news station is covering immigration.

He also tweeted "Michael Tammero at Fox News is assisting kidnappers (The President and his administration) who are holding children for ransom".

"This is fringe shit, and it's business like this that makes me embarrassed to work for this company", he wrote on Twitter.

KPCC also manages outlets like the popular LAist brand, which expressed huge gratitude for the donation in an article on Tuesday.

Paul Feig, who directed 20th Century Fox comedies Spy and The Heat, retweeted Levitan's message and added, "I have made two films for 20th Century Fox and love the people in the movie and TV divisions".
