Real Madrid's interest in Liverpool midfield target Nabil Fekir has so far been limited to only making an enquiry for the Lyon captain this summer.

Fekir is now with the France squad in Russian Federation for the World Cup and his agent has indicated that the Reds could make a fresh move for the player after the end of the summer tournament.

Fekir was on the brink of joining the Reds earlier this month, only for the deal to collapse at the 11th hour over claims that Liverpool were concerned by findings during his medical. The Reds have, thus far, been predominantly linked with a move for Nabil Fekir, although a few complications have arisen in their bid to sign the Frenchman of late.

He said: "Nabil is an exceptional player".

Aulas added that Liverpool allegedly dragging their heels had opened the door to other clubs to try to sign Fekir, including European champions Real Madrid. I have always listened as a priority, the players are my sons. I immediately said to him that if he wanted to stay, we could do an extension.
