She is buried in Jerusalem, and William will visit her grave on Thursday.

He will stay in Jerusalem at the King David Hotel, former headquarters of the British administration during the mandate in Palestine before the creation of the State of Israel in 1948. The Duchess of Cambridge, now 36, and her family lived in Jordan back in the 1980s, while her father worked for British Airways in Amman.

Other members of the royal family, such as the Dukes of Gloucester or Kent, cousins of the Queen, have made official visits to Israel in the past. His great-grandmother, Princess Alice of Greece - the mother of the Duke of Edinburgh - is recognised by the memorial for her role in rescuing Jews during the Holocaust by hiding three members of a family called Cohen in her palace in Athens during the Nazi occupation of Greece.

Prince William laid a wreath at the Holocaust remembrance centre Yad Vashem and was shown around the museum's Hall of Names, a virtual cemetery where names and details of millions of victims are recorded.

Kensington Palace captioned the tweet: "Prince William arrives in Israel, on the first official visit by a senior member of the Royal Family". "It's great honour for me to be able to say thank you, symbolically, to the British people who saved my life". "[I'm] trying to comprehend the scale".

The Prince will then conclude his trip to Israel by meeting young Israelis at Beit Ha'ir Museum before leaving for Ramallah in the West Bank to meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Taxing online sellers is a victory for local stores
South Dakota concluded in 2016 that the explosion in online sales changed the market dramatically. That will bring Springfield millions of dollars while closing a loophole that hurt IL retailers.

The Palestinians are also eager to welcome the prince, hoping his visit will give them a boost as they struggle with a Trump administration they consider biased toward Israel.

The prince wrote an entry in the guest book of the Yad Vashem, saying: "It has been a profoundly moving experience to visit Yad Vashem today". The Palestinians claim east Jerusalem as their future capital.

Hall said they were following "decades" of rulings in the United Nations that declare east Jerusalem, including the Old City, part of the occupied Palestinian territories.

The prince presented Rivlin, an avid football fan, with a jersey of his favourite Premier League team, Liverpool, and expressed how eager he was to dive into his first visit to the Holy Land.

"It is nearly impossible to comprehend this appalling event in history".

Later in the day, William planned to meet young people participating in a soccer-based youth programme in Tel Aviv and deliver a speech at a reception at the British ambassador's residence.
