Paul informed the Cavs on Friday morning that the four-time MVP would not opt in to the final year of his contract; James was scheduled to make $35.6 million in 2018-19. He also reported that James would also utilize Instagram TV to launch a trailer and documentary for a Space Jam 2 film through his Spring Hill production company, which was greenlit by Warner Brothers.

The Los Angeles Lakers are scrambling to put together a trade package that will pave the way for Kawhi Leonard to join the team, but as of now the San Antonio Spurs have not been impressed with what's on the table.

LeBron James is leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers for a 4-year, $154 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.

James has bolted as a free agent twice - in 2010, when his contract was up with Cleveland and he chose the Miami Heat, and in 2014, when he exercised the early termination option in his Heat contract and returned to Cleveland.

By declining his option, James positioned himself to be able to choose where he'll play next, and Cleveland, just up the road from his home near Akron, remains a strong possibility. Some teams are preparing for the future with rebuild seasons to develop top young stars and draft picks while the other teams are gathering all the talent they can to take down Golden State and win the title.

It's unclear what a deal would look like or if the Spurs even have interest in any of the players now on the Clippers' roster.

James was on a plane that flew into Van Nuys Airport near Los Angeles on Saturday. The Lakers are hoping they can persuade him to sign with them.
