That's a lot of action for a single sequel, and critics say Ant-Man and the Wasp definitely doesn't lack moving parts, but director Peyton Reed manages to wrangle them all into a fun, amusing pause between senses-shattering rounds of the war with Thanos. And, as such, it appears as though the ending of Ant-Man and The Wasp might have hit a bit of a snag in the overall timeline of the MCU.

The mid-credits scene is the one that has the most significance to the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, because it shows Scott Lang fiddling about inside the Quantum Realm, which the film tells us is a very unsafe place.

Ant-Man and The Wasp is now in theaters, if you're wondering if it has any post-credits scenes to stick around for you, you're in luck. Scott, meanwhile, is stuck in the Quantum Realm.

What happens: Back at Scott's house, everything is chaos. He's ready to come back up, and starts the countdown. only Janet, Hank, and Hope aren't receiving his messages.

The plan, Janet explains to Scott, is for him to take a healing particle into the subatomic quantum realm to help "cure our ghost friend".

An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios' "Avengers: Infinity War" brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The TV is showing only the "Emergency Broadcast System" signal - probably as a result of the mayhem caused by Thanos. If they send Scott back to Earth outside of his own time period, it could explain why we've seen leaked photos of the Avengers and Loki circa the Battle of NY. The ant who'd subbed in for Scott's daily routine is not only home, he's having the time of his life banging on Scott's electric drum kit.

As most of you know, Ant-Man and the Wasp finds Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) teaming up with Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) to venture into the Quantum Realm and rescue Hope's mother Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer).

There's basically an endless list of possibilities revolving around the Quantum Realm. We also learned that spending enough time in the Quantum Realm alters one physiology and can imbue a person with the ability to control-or at least manipulate-quantum particles in people's bodies.

Avengers 4 will arrive in May, 2019.
