Russians Accused of Hacking Democrats in 2016 US Election

But Friday's indictment was the first by Mueller that directly charges Russia's government with meddling.

The indictment does not allege that Trump campaign associates were involved in the hacking efforts or that any American was knowingly in contact with Russian intelligence officers. They allegedly mined coins and acquired them "through a variety of means to obscure the origin of the funds", which were used to finance cyberattacks against Democratic party officials, members of Hillary Clinton's campaign, and others.

Rosenstein said 11 of the Russians indicted Friday were charged with "conspiring to hack into computers, steal documents, and release those documents with the intent to interfere in the election".

Journalists waiting for a major announcement by Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein Friday suddenly quieted, straining to hear a voice among them. "There is no debate that the Russians meddled in the election".

"As I testified before the House Intelligence Committee under oath, my 24 word exchange with someone on Twitter claiming to be Guccifer 2.0 is benign based on its content, context and timing", Stone said when reached by ABC News late Friday.

"Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing, I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press", Trump said in a July 27, 2016 news conference.

The indictment was announced at nearly exactly the moment that Trump rolled into the quadrangle of Windsor Castle to meet the awaiting Queen Elizabeth II in the symbolic highpoint of his visit to Britain.

The Lightning Seeds' Ian Broudie and comedians Frank Skinner and David Baddiel originally released Three Lion in 1996. A re-worked version with new new lyrics for the 1998 World Cup in France also spent three weeks at the summit.

"President Trump should cancel his meeting with Vladimir Putin until Russian Federation takes demonstrable and transparent steps to prove that they won't interfere in future elections", he said. His team is investigating efforts by Russian Federation to influence the 2016 USA presidential election. Needless to say, even if that's true, it doesn't amount to collusion: It makes Trump's half-joking invitation to the Russians to victimize her smell even worse than it did at the time, but you're not going down on a conspiracy charge if you say "I wish X would happen" and then someone hears you and independently goes and does X. It does make you wonder what the Russians were thinking, though, if in fact they were inspired by Trump to start searching that domain for her personal emails that day.

A few hours before the indictments were announced, Trump described the Mueller investigation as a "rigged witch hunt" that is hurting the United States relationship with Russian Federation.

The GRU, which answers to the Russian military's General Staff, is part of the state machine and its involvement would indicate that the orders to interfere in the USA election came from the very top.

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his deputy Rick Gates were charged with money laundering relating to their political consultancy work in Ukraine. The 20 are four former Trump campaign and White House aides, three of whom have pleaded guilty to different crimes and agreed to co-operate, and 13 Russians accused of participating in a hidden but powerful social media campaign to sway USA public opinion in the 2016 election.

The indictment says that Florida elections officials were targets of the operatives, who worked for the Russian foreign intelligence service, the GRU.

"If it is Russian Federation, which it probably is not, nobody knows who it is, but if it is Russian Federation, it's really bad for a different reason because it shows how little respect they have for our country when they would hack into a major party and get everything", Trump said.
