Liverpool have completed the signing of Brazil goalkeeper Alisson Becker from AS Roma, the English Premier League side announced on Thursday.

The 25-year-old had always been linked with a move to the Anfield club since the end of last season, with the Reds unhappy with their goalkeeping options at the time.

As for Alisson? In his final campaign in Serie A, he let in just 28 goals in 37 games, a ratio matched by De Gea, but bettered by Manchester City's Ederson, who let in 26.

"In terms of my life and my career, it's a huge step for me being part of this club and this family", the 25-year-old Alisson said.

The new Liverpool shot-stopper started all five games for Brazil at the World Cup in Russian Federation where they bowed out in a quarter-final defeat by Belgium.

Jurgen Klopp was hellbent on recruiting a new stopper following Loris Karius' miserable outing in last season's Champions League final.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has agreed with Mourinho's annoyance regarding the hasty turnover after the conclusion of the 2018 World Cup in Russian Federation which has left a number of clubs without key stars for the whole of pre-season so far.

The Starsport online team have voted, and we have come up with a team of the tournament - in a 4-2-3-1 formation - from the votes. Kylian Mpabbe became the second teenager after legendary Pele in 1958 to score at the summit clash of the World Cup.

With the record-breaking deal in place, we couldn't help but wonder how the world's most expensive starting XI would line up?

"The full package is just good", he told the club's official website.

The Brazil worldwide joined the Reds from AS Roma on a long-term deal to further strengthen Jürgen Klopp's squad for the new campaign. They were quite excited, so we did it.

Now, Alisson has revealed that he was in constant contact with his Brazil team-mate Firmino ahead of his transfer to Liverpool FC this week. He has nothing to do with the price, we have nothing to do with the price, it's the market, that's how it is and we will not think a lot about it.

Alisson also made more stops in the UEFA Champions League (46) in 2017/18 than any other goalkeeper. They did so behind a remarkable defensive record that saw them concede just 28 league goals, and Alisson's contribution to that can not be denied.

"I've seen other games where I could see the way Jurgen Klopp had the team playing".

"But of course he still has to adapt and age-wise he can improve, the best years are coming in the goalkeeper life, so it's all good". Last season when I was at Monaco, when we had the need for me to defend, I used to stay back and my teammates would attack.
