Pep Guardiola was forced to field a makeshift line-up with plenty of youngsters and players who spent last season out on loan, with 16 senior players still to join up for preseason after playing at the World Cup.

The German winger - who was left out of his nation's World Cup squad - could not inspire his team to an equaliser, however, and it left City to begin their preparations for the upcoming campaign with a defeat.

"Joe is our player".

Although he has been targeting a replacement for Toure for the past two transfer windows, Guardiola says he is unsure whether he will buy one as he has options in Fabian Delph, Ilkay Gundogan and Danilo. I am happy we won and happy to play against my old club. It was really good for their futures because we played one of the best teams in Germany and we did many good things.

Guardiola said his team played well despite not having a lot of time to train together. I know it is not easy for him, what happened in the last period.

Modi government passes no-trust test comfortably
Modi initially looked non-plussed and did not stand up, but recovered quickly and called Gandhi back and patted him on the back. With a central image of the hug, the daily highlighted both the Opposition's complaints as well as the government's responses.

"For the guy, it would have been a mistake for him and for us if he had chose to come here when he wanted to go with Maurizio and Chelsea".

Guardiola may have to use some of his fringe players for the Community Shield game against Chelsea on August 5 and Premier League opener against Arsenal eight days later.

Guardiola added: "He has to improve his game, try to keep the levels he showed last season".

'English football received an exceptional player at the end. If they are not mentally and physically ready, don't come back. If they are ready they'll help us and if not we'll wait for them.

Gotze's victor came in the 28th minute when American global Christian Pulisic was hauled down in the box allowing the midfielder who famously scored the winning goal in the 2014 World Cup final to beat Claudio Bravo. All the best for him'.
