While collusion is not a technical legal charge, Mueller is probing any coordination between the Russian government and the Trump campaign, and could bring conspiracy charges if he finds that any campaign member worked with Russia to break US law.

"Maybe it explains why he hired 13 Democrats, ' Giuliani said, referencing Trump's repeated claim that Mueller stacked his team with 'angry" Democrats, although Federal Bureau of Investigation regulations would have precluded the Republican Mueller from using party affiliation to select his team. Then-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, also participated in that meeting.

"Whatever his conclusion is on the issue of collusion, I will stand by it", Durbin said.

"We are fully confident of the accuracy and reliability of the information that has been provided by Donald Trump Jr.in the various investigations", Futerfas said in a statement.

The former New York City mayor told CNN weeks ago that Trump might be coming around on the idea that he should resist sitting down for a wide-ranging interview with Mueller.

The former NY mayor said if Trump is interviewed by Mueller's legal team, "Our real concern is they're going to set up a perjury trap", attempting to catch Trump, who often misstates facts, in a lie, which is a criminal offense.

The President has said he would like to sit down with Mueller if he perceived he would be treated fairly.

Giuliani also taunted Mueller in an interview with Axios published Monday. "And so I'm not aware of any disqualifying conflict of interest". The (FBI agent Peter) Strzok report shows a guy off the wall who ran the original investigation hates Trump and claims he's not biased but he hates him.

In the tweets, Trump largely resurfaced previous issues he has with the investigation, claiming Mueller personally has conflicts of interest - including a "contentious business relationship" - that should preclude him from running the investigation, accusing Mueller of bringing on too many Democratic investigators, and making a false claim about the origin of the Russian Federation investigation.

Trump fumed about what he claimed were conflicts of interest on Twitter Sunday.

Moscow has denied any meddling in the election. Trump has also asserted he didn't know about the meeting.

'We have 183 unique tape recordings. 'Sounds suspicious, doesn't it?' he added.
