Thibaut Courtois' representative has urged Chelsea to allow the goalkeeper to join Real Madrid.

Brazil worldwide Willian, who played at the 2018 FIFA World Cup for his country, was due back in England last Friday but did not turn up for pre-season training until Wednesday afternoon as he reportedly had some issues with his passport.

The goalkeeper wants to return to Madrid to be closer to his family and experience a new challenge after four years as Chelsea's No.1. Therefore, it's hardly surprising that clubs like Real Madrid have continually had the 26-year-old on their radar.

Thibaut Courtois is undoubtedly one of the best goalkeepers in the world and no team would like to lose the player of his calibre and quality.

However, the club are yet to sign a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo and the English transfer window closes in just nine days.

'But he has turned down a better offer elsewhere because this is more than a financial decision.

Assad's sweep of southwest Syria drove hundreds of thousands of refugees toward Israel and Jordan, alarming both. They were believed to be fleeing the Syrian army of President Bashar Assad.

With very little time to land a suitable replacement, the Belgian global will be compelled to serve the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea prepared to let Courtois leave for free if they fail to convince him to sign a new deal.

Maurizio Sarri confirmed on Friday that he was hopeful that Courtois will stay but the Belgian's agent has revealed he's asked to leave and told Chelsea to accept Madrid's offer.

The failed Pickford move means Chelsea believe they have exhausted their options in terms of a replacement for Courtois.

Henrotay added: "It is understandable people might be upset because he wants to leave the club".

But speaking after Chelsea's friendly defeat against Arsenal in Dublin on Wednesday, Sarri admitted he was "not happy" about the situation and would talk to Willian when he returned to Cobham.

"Courtois is the goalkeeper of the club, I don't know in the future, it depends on the club, and especially on him, I think".
