Sanchez has won 88 caps for Colombia and played in the Premier League for Aston Villa between 2014 and 2016.

West Ham have announced the signing of Spanish striker Lucas Perez from Arsenal, confirming the 29-year-old's arrival on a three-year contract. But the Baggies are still hoping they can land the global midfielder with the lure of playing in what could be a very exciting season as they battle for promotion back to the Premier League.

The striker finally leaves the North Londoners despite many statements by his agent saying that the Spanish worldwide wants to stay at the Emirates Stadium but it is likely that Lucas Perez made a decision to leave the club because he was afraid that he won't get enough playing time this season under Unai Emery.

Sanchez's future appears to be away from Fiorentina after spending last season on loan at La Liga side Espanyol.

Pellegrini has overhauled West Ham's squad this summer breaking the club's transfer record to sign Felipe Anderson from Lazio while signing Jack Wilshere, Fabian Balbuena, Andriy Yarmolenko, Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks, Issa Diop and youngster Xande Silva.

"I'm very excited, as West Ham are giving me the chance to stay in the Premier League", Perez told the club's official website.

West Ham United have landed the signature of Colombia worldwide Carlos Sanchez.

Not content with having Lucas Perez lined-up, Manuel Pellegrini is also pushing to bolster his side's midfield ranks with the addition of Fiorentina's Carlos Sanchez - who will be remembered for his previous spell at Aston Villa, where he left a lot to be desired.
