Aretha Franklin ‘very ill,’ surrounded by family

According to Showbiz 411, the Queen of Soul is surrounded by friends and family.

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Aretha Franklin asking for comment. Her last performance was reportedly on 2 November 2017 for the Elton John AIDS Foundation - where fans were shocked by her dramatic weight loss - though her final public performance was in August 2017.

Showbiz 411 reported that Franklin was "o$3 riginally diagnosed with cancer in 2010".

Aretha was performing as recently as a year ago; but last summer she canceled a series of concerts citing "doctor's orders".

"I don't know where pancreatic cancer came from", she told Access Hollywood at the time.

"I've lost a lot of weight due to side effects of medicine, it affects your weight ..." Her undisclosed illness has resulted in several concert cancelations. She will be so missed as a mother, sister, friend, cousin.

But later that year, she revealed plans to buy a nightclub near her home and do occasional shows there.

When asked if she would still be still be doing numbers like "Respect" and "Think", she said: "No, I shouldn't think so". It wasn't specified in the original report whether Franklin is hospitalized or not, but sources such as BET suggested that she is in "serious condition" at a Detroit hospital. I feel very, very enriched and satisfied with respect to where my career came from and where it is now'.

Over the course of her five-decade career, Aretha has earned 18 Grammy awards and sold over 75 million records.

Franklin became the first woman in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame when she was inducted back in 1987.
