The 25-year-old also made comments suggesting he was unhappy at Manchester United following their 2-1 victory over Leicester on Friday.

"There are things I can say and there are things I cannot say... otherwise I will get fined, ' Pogba said and the Frenchman's comments are understood to have 'baffled" Mourinho.

Former Liverpool star Jason McAteer thinks little has changed at the Reds' rivals Manchester United and admits he is wondering how much longer Jose Mourinho will last as manager.

Pogba could be handed the United captaincy on a permanent basis this season.

Mourinho also added that the club had to play against a team that spent more than United in the transfer window, while also claiming that other teams are bringing quality players into their side. There are problems, I was surprised to see him play [against Leicester].

However, the former Juventus midfielder hinted at an ongoing impasse with Mourinho by stressing: "If you're not happy, you can not give your best", Pogba said.

Predicted 4-3-3 Manchester City Lineup Vs Arsenal
Manchester City begins its English Premier League title defense Sunday against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in London. After the match, Emery said his players would need to make a vast improvement to achieve their ambitions.

Asked about his commitment to the club, Pogba again seemed to have a subtle go at Mourinho stating: "like I said I always give my best for the fans, for the team mates and for the people who trust me". I think we are more the head coach than the manager.

Mourinho had implied Pogba - whose agent Mini Raiola has reportedly been talking with Barcelona - had flourished under Didier Deschamps at the World Cup because he could not be distracted by his entourage or by his commercial obligations.

Maybe Manchester United supporters don't need to worry about Paul Pogba leaving after all.

"I would love to see Mourinho enjoy real success at United, but it's hard to see that happening if he continues to have a pop at his players in public and he has looked miserable every time he has been stood before a television camera this summer".

"When you have everybody with you, everybody next to you, you know they want to fight for you, obviously it's going to be easier", he said.
