Ms Maingault is now promoting a book called Unhinged - which Ms Manigault-Newman claims will "blow the whistle" on alleged corruption within the Trump administration.

Not so, said the president in a tweet on Monday. She held the positions of assistant to the president and director of communications for the office of public liaison.

In the audio, Pierson can be heard saying she wanted more info on how the word might have been used so they could "maybe try to figure a way to spin it".

On Monday, the former senior aide revealed a recording she'd made of the President phoning her on the day after she was sacked.

"Savannah, slow down. I'm going to ask [answer] your question, don't worry, I'm here, I've got all the time, so you don't have to ask 10 questions in one second", she said.

"The sad thing is as we saw with 'Access Hollywood, ' it probably won't impact his base, I think their support is baked-in, but I think it does expose him for the racist that he is", she said, adding that the "truth matters".

Manigault Newman had also worked for Trump during his presidential campaign. It specifically "prohibited top aides from disclosing confidential information in any form including books, without the express permission of the president", a former administration official tells Politico.

"Nobody even told me about it", Mr. Trump is heard saying, after chief of staff John Kelly terminated her employment.

State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said the USA was "concerned" by reports of an attack resulting in civilian deaths. The Houthis have launched a series of missile strikes on the kingdom, including the capital, Riyadh , over the past year.

In the recording obtained by CBS News, Manigault Newman and other aides appear to discuss how to handle fallout from the tape, allegedly from Trump's time as host of "The Apprentice", if it were released. "You're the "You're fired" guy, and you're too scared to tell Omarosa she's fired? She made it up", Trump tweeted.

Wacky Omarosa, who got fired 3 times on the Apprentice, now got fired for the last time.

The first indication that he'd continued this practice in the White House came in a March Washington Post report.

Pierson then pointed to a media appearance by Manigault two days after the December 12 call Patton says Manigault made to her "informing [Patton] that [Manigault] had personally heard a second-hand recording of President Trump using the "N-word" in a derogatory fashion". "She made it up".

Manigault Newman is an unlikely candidate for a campaign job, given that she was let go for unprofessional conduct like hosting a bridal party photo shoot at the White House.

Manigault-Newman also taped Trump sounding surprised on the phone after being informed of her firing at Kelly's behest.

"It's all an attempt to just sell a book and I think we need to remember that", Lotter said. "I also never heard Omarosa complain that he had done that, and so the only thing that's changed is that she's now selling books". In it, she goes so far as to claim that Kelly and the White House lawyers present, upon notifying her of her termination, were holding her against her will in the Situation Room, suggesting she was at risk of an asthma attack because she initially couldn't get her inhaler.
