The shooting happened close to an area within the race track where rapper Ice Cube is scheduled to perform a sold out show later on Sunday night.

Sheriff's deputies shot a man who opened fire outside an Ice Cube concert venue after being told the show was sold out, according to the San Diego County, California, Sheriff's Department.

The San Diego Sheriff's department confirmed to Fox 5 that one person was injured in the shooting.

The track was hosting a post-race concert featuring Ice Cube, the popular rap artist, writer and actor whose former group NWA, was the subject in the movie, "Straight Outta Compton".

At 7:22 p.m., Del Mar Racetrack tweeted that the incident had been contained and that the concert was taking place as planned. The concerts take place at the Seaside Stage, which is located near the west end of the racetrack's Grandstand. However, a video posted on Twitter appeared to show a man holding a handgun, with two deputies nearby.
