Carr on Mack trade: 'It isn't what anybody wanted'

In the immediate aftermath of the Raiders' controversial decision to ship Khalil Mack to Chicago in a shocking, blockbuster trade on Saturday, franchise quarterback Derek Carr expressed the way he felt with a two-word tweet. You can call him a defensive end.

"It's not what anybody wanted, I think that's clear", Carr said Monday.

"But it is what it is - it's part of the business", Carr added. The hardest part for me is, obviously you lose a good football player, but he's my brother. "He's one of my best friends". Understandably, after piling up 40.5 sacks over four seasons, winning a Defensive Player of the Year award, and being named First Team All-Pro twice, Mack wanted a new contract that would make him the highest paid defensive player. Chicago had no qualms about paying him, making him the highest-paid defensive player in National Football League history with a six-year, $141 million contract extension (with $90 million guaranteed).

"I'm not really here to kick them while they're down", Peppers said after that game.

"We don't have to like or agree with everything", Carr said.

"We're going to be second-guessed until the cows come home on this".

Vettel: Hamilton did not leave me any space
Hamilton's overtaking move on Vettel was investigated by the stewards but they took no action, deeming it a racing incident. We know we have a very strong auto , which was clearly demonstrated by the fact we monopolised the front row of the grid.

The Browns were often mentioned as a candidate to land Mack, but he wound up in Chicago with the Bears. "I feel good about that".

Perhaps that's why it was Peppers who - after he gave a much-talked-about inspirational pregame speech in the Green Bay locker room before his first game against the Bears as a Packer, in 2014 - expressed empathy for his old team after a 55-14 Green Bay victory. Said Nagy: "I'm not going to sit here and say 100 percent because we haven't declared that yet". That's the only thing left on our list that won't happen. One of the reasons I'm here is because of him.

Khalil Mack is ready to take his talents to Chicago.

That was particularly hard for Carr. The Raiders were positive that Mack would want to surpass those bank-breaking numbers, so they were forced to listen to offers. "We all saw it coming". "It's one of those things that you just hope it can work out".

The Cowboys received five players and a haul that included three first-round picks (two conditional), turning their draft capital into Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith, three-time All-Pro safety Darren Woodson, Pro Bowl defensive tackle Russell Maryland and star cornerback Kevin Smith.

McMichael said he signed with the Packers because Brett Favre and Reggie White were there, and it was "a chance to play with some legends".
