The Steelers took the field Monday at 10:45 a.m. and Le'Veon was noticeably absent.

He was not at the Rooney Complex yet again.

Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey told ESPN on Monday he expects the superstar running back to end his holdout and play in the team's regular-season opener.

"Coach Mike Tomlin and the coaching staff will continue to focus on preparing players on our roster for our regular season on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns". "He wrote me a long note before camp and explained what was going on".

"Whenever he comes, we'll welcome him with open arms", Pouncey said. "We've got other things to focus on".

Guard Ramon Foster said the team is focused on "the 53 that are here".

Connor Goldson: ‘The way people spoke I thought Celtic were Barcelona’
Yesterday was the former England international's first defeat in his 13 games as a manager. I said "you can now go if you can get the move"'.

So is Bell going to show up this week or is he going to make some sort of statement by skipping the Steelers first game of the season?

Last season, Bell took his physical September 1 and showed up for practice September 4, the Monday before the season opener, before playing a full year on a $12.12 million franchise tag. "You ever think the Raiders would let him go?"

"When he gets here, that's when we'll start quantifying all Le'Veon Bell related things, his overall readiness, the amount of time that we have between his arrival and our next competition", Tomlin said, adding he has not been in communication with Bell this week.

"Do you feel more comfortable with what you have behind Le'Veon going into Cleveland than you did past year?" Unless they remove his franchise tag, every game he misses from here on in will result in a $900,000 penalty, divisible from his $14.5 million salary.

"We all know Le'Veon's running style is unique and it's different for the line, it's a change for everybody but I think James Conner really took advantage of the opportunity and has done some great things".

By not signing the tender, Bell missed the Steelers' camp, same as past year, with no repercussions. Could be a week, as it was previous year.
