It would make it very easy for Liverpool to prepare!

Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel wants his side to take Real Madrid as an example as they look to conquer the Champions League. Some clubs would have wallowed in the pain. Sadly however for other Premier League bosses, the Liverpool manager refused to be drawn on the secret to his success over these two highly-rated coaches.

When asked whether the 26-year-old would recover in time, Klopp said: "Not definitely".

Of course a chance was missed in May but, in another sense, Liverpool had already grasped the moment...

"I think that Marquinhos has a lot of the qualities that make him predestined to play in this role", Tuchel said last week. We are a challenger and we are a challenger again for pretty much everything, especially in each game.

But Jose Enrique, a member of the last Liverpool team to lift silverware in 2012, sees no reason why his former club should be bound by this particular Sophie's Choice any longer.

"Now, for me, Liverpool are a title contender - it's not just the Champions League".

Both sides have made flawless starts to their domestic campaigns so far with the two European heavyweights winning all five in their respected leagues.
