Africans love US Great First Lady

Nairobi motorists should brace themselves for a day of heavy traffic as US First Lady Melania Trump tours the city.

Melania Trump took part in a baby elephant feeding on Friday as she visited a national park in Kenya to highlight conservation efforts.

She will finally wrap-up her four-nation tour in Egypt and Malawi.

She added: "My husband and I appreciate all that you're doing to serve our country".

Mrs. Trump toured classrooms at Lilongwe's Chipala Primary School, which gets textbooks and other education assistance from the U.S. Agency for International Development.

Trump is advocating for children's welfare as part of her "Be Best" campaign during her first global solo tour as first lady. More girls than boys were in the first outside lesson, which totaled 275 students.

Melania first landed in Ghana where she was warmly received by Ghana's First Lady Rebbecca Akufo-Addo.

"I wanted to be here to see the successful programs that (the) United States is providing the children and thank you for everything you've done", the first lady said at a book donation ceremony in the school library.

The convoy of the US First Lady however passed by without any incident and Mrs Trump might have seen the protests. "I was heartened to spend time with the students".

Melania Trump met with Malawian First Lady Gertrude Maseko at the state house for tea before watching three traditional dance performances.

Among scores of people lining the motorcade route between the school and the ambassador's residence, a few white people held signs.
