This week marks National Mental Illness Awareness Week, a week established by Congress in 1990 to put the spotlight on a subject not talked about almost enough.

It is estimated that only 20 percent of these child and adolescents are ever diagnosed and receive treatment with a mental health disorder and 80 percent are not receiving treatment prolonging the lifetime and impact of their illness.
