Media Blasts Kanye West for Oval Office Meeting

When asked if West could be a future president, Donald Trump said he could well be.

MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace called out the absurd display on her show "Deadline: White House" as her guests argued that the lunch with West was created to bolster Trump's ego.

Kanye's meeting with the president included a 10-minute speech in which the 41-year-old rapper mused about several topics and then gave Trump a hug.

West credits Trump with stopping a potential war with North Korea and is encouraging Trump to swap his usual Air Force One jet for a hydrogen-powered plane.

West launched into a soliloquy-peppered with occasional curse words-about his own upbringing, violence in Chicago and his unapologetic backing of a president who has found tepid support among other entertainers or black Americans.

"It was from the soul".

But West, who's from Chicago, told Trump that this strategy is detrimental.

After he finished, The president concluded, "He can speak for me any time he wants. he's a smart cookie". West chipped in to say "Only after, it would have to be 2024". His wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian West, has worked with the White House on criminal justice reform and clemency issues.

The artist wore one of Trump's Make America Great Again hats during a recent performance on "Saturday Night Live".
