Betts delivered food to homeless after Game 2 in Boston

One of the craziest games in World Series history would not have been as insane if not for the most inexplicable moment of a never-ending night.

With the Dodgers facing a 2-0 deficit, Buehler shut out the Boston Red Sox for seven innings, holding the highest-scoring team in the majors to two measly singles.

But the Dodgers would answer in similarly wild fashion in the bottom of the inning when Yasiel Puig lined a drive to second baseman Ian Kinsler who could not make the throw to first, the error allowing Muncy to score. Left-hander Rich Hill starts for the Dodgers. He was charged with five runs and seven hits over four-plus innings in a Game 1 loss at Boston. Who they go to for Game 5 will largely depend on how much of a role the bullpen plays on Saturday, with starter Drew Pomeranz expected to pick up a few innings after Rodríguez finishes his outing.

Saturday night Puig sent a huge Dodger Stadium into a frenzy with a three-run homer off Red Sox starter Eduardo Rodriguez in the sixth. Someday, the luck will turn for the city of Beantown, and a lot can happen between now and the Red Sox winning their fourth game of this series.

Boston starter Rick Porcello gave up one run and three hits in 4 2/3 innings.

In a town that loves to go large, the Los Angeles Dodgers' 3-2 at home victory over the Boston Red Sox also beat the previous World Series record of most innings in a single game. The Red Sox now own a commanding 3-1 lead in the 114th Fall Classic.

Ironically, when Moreland touched home, it was the first run Madson was charged with during the series.

After being traded this past offseason from the Tigers to the Los Angeles Angels, he was dealt again to the Red Sox at this year's trade deadline. "It's the World Series". Only six teams have accomplished the feat in the best-of-seven World Series, although the Chicago Cubs did it just two years ago.

Before the game, the Dodgers stirred some happy memories for their fans by bringing out Kirk Gibson to throw the ceremonial first pitch. J.D. Martinez is hitting.214 (3-for-14) with a.353 on-base percentage.

Rodriguez returns after throwing just six pitches in striking out Joc Pederson for the final out of the fifth inning Friday. Nathan Eovaldi, who had been set to start Game 4, made his third relief appearance of the week and pitched a flawless inning, topping 101 miles per hour with his fastball. Walking to the mound, he signalled to the bullpen and Hill was gone.
